Bayard Public Schools Online Payment for Student Lunch Bills

Bayard Public Schools can accept payment for school lunches through our school website in partnership with the Nebraska Association of School Boards and the e-Funds for Schools programs.  Payments can be made either through an online portal or in the central office.  The school is able to process both electronic checks and credit/debit cards.  There is a link under the Quicklinks Tab on the school website ( www.bayardpublicschools.org ) titled “Payments.”  In order to make payments . . .

Inclement Weather

Inclement Weather Procedure:   In the event of inclement weather the Superintendent of Schools will determine if travel is safe. The Superintendent will decide if school needs to be canceled or dismissed early and KNEB  will be notified.  In addition, a message will be posted on social media platforms, sent via Remind and a telephone message will be sent via .  The school district will make every effort to review weather conditions and make closure determinations prior to 6:00 a.m.   . . .

Changes to the School Lunch Program - Sign Up for Free or Reduced Lunch and Breakfasts!

Attention Bayard Families:   The USDA has discontinued the COVID pandemic program the provided free breakfasts and lunches to school students.  For the 2022-23 school year we will revert to previous nutrition program practices.    It is VERY IMPORTANT that every eligible family applies even if you don't intend on utilizing the school lunch program.  Several state and federally funded programs are tied to the number of families who QUALIFY, not the number who actually utilize the . . .

Revised Continuity of Learning Plan Approved January, 2024

Board of Education takes formal action in opposition to the Nebraska Department of Education's proposed health education standards

BPS Participates in the Hope Squad Initiative

On November 25th, Bayard Public Schools hosted Hope Squad training for regional professionals from area schools in cooperation with Panhandle Prevention.   This training is being provided to school personnel from several area schools, in addition to the professionals from Bayard Public Schools.   The goal of the Hope Squad program is to "...seek to reduce self-destructive behavior and youth suicide by training, building, and creating change in schools and communities."
